World Book Day
To celebrate World Book Day and how wonderful books are and what knowledge, compassion and enjoyment they can bring to our lives all our children will recieve a £1 book token to redeem against a new book. Most good book shops accept the tokens. During our Friday Assembly today 4th of March to celebrate books all our children brought in a book to read during the whole school reading assembly. Both teachers and children enjoyed reading their own books in the peaceful and relaxing assembly atmosphere.
We are starting a 'Book Swap' so that children can bring an already read, good quality, book from home to school and in the Information Centre swap it with one another another child has placed in the book swap box. These books can then be read by lots of children, rather than sitting on a shelf, providing an opportunity for the children to read lots of books without the expense of having to buy them.
Also there will be an adult book swap for parents in the parenting room on Friday mornings. If you would like to become a book swapper please bring along a good book and see Diane or Rosemary.
