Travel Award 2010
Manorisde Primary School has been awarded a 'Higher Standards' award in recognition of achievement for it's safe and sustainable travel initiatives by Transport for London Scheme. Presented by Ben Plowden, Director of Better Routes and Places. Our Year 4 School Council Repsentatives recieved the award on behalf of the school. We are looking forward to their feedback on how our school can make Manorside children safe and how we can promote reduction in car use. This presentation took place at the Emirates Stadium. Children from local schools in Barnet and other local authorities took part in workshops and activities throughout the day and all had a thoroughly enjoyable day. SchoolTravel Plans are in place in all of Barnet Schools, promoting more sustainable ways to travel to work and get active in the lead up to 2010.Thanks to the School Travel Plans as of September 2010 the average reduction in single household cars on the school run for Barnet is 12.23% around double the 2009 London-wide average. There has been an average 7.76% increase in walking all or part of the way to school.GalleryID{2149}
