Healthy Eating and Food tasting Day 9th June 2011

Thank you to all our parents and carers who attended this extremely successful tasting session proveded by Barnet Catering Services.   Sample menus were available from our new school menu provided at lunch times.

Barnet Catering Services Menu Information - The majority of their dishes are homemade and produced from fresh ingredients.   They do no use nuts or nut products in any of the primary menus.   They do not use any genetically modified ingredients.   All the meat and poultry is UK or EC sourced and some is farm assured.    Only vegetable oil is used.   They only use vegetarian reduced fat cheese in their recipes.   They only use free range eggs.   They serve organic bread on a regular basis   Fresh vegetables are served on the menu every day.   A wide range of fresh salad is offered every day.   They serve MSC certified fish products.   They do not serve any fried products .   All the puddings are suitable for vegetarians.   All the sponge puddings are homemade.   A selection of fresh fruit including melon, grapes, fresh pineapple and strawberries are offered daily.   Only vegetarian jelly is used.   Kosher and Halal meat options are offered in schools requiring this provision.   Our menus comply with the Government's Nutrient and Food Based Standards.
